The title is irritating because:

1. This is not a "known" exploit. In fact CCP in their wisedom has many times said this is cool. So experienced players are not expecting this thread.

2. This tactic does suck, however, and if you title was more like "when is CCP going to fix the 'known' lag issue" then you'd be more on topic and it *might* be yet another thread reminding CCP of the core problem.

Camping jump-in points isn't the problem. The problem is that you are announced in the new star system before your client loads fully, and sometimes the lag time is more than long enough for the immunity timer to expire, the camper to lock you and for offensive action towards you in whatever form to be well along before you even know what is going on.

Everyone who wants to win ATM camps jump-in points, usually with mines, drones, whatever isn't currently considered an exploit. Valid tactic or exploit is ATM a matter of CCP opinion from on high, rather than common sense. Meanwhile, "noble" PvPers who refuse to use the tactic will get smoked in any serious war.

The fix was "coming soon (tm)" ages ago in a CSM, but has been dropped since. Random jump-in points, gate to gate jumping or whatever won't address this key problem of server-side lag and client announcement.

Only because EVE is lacking a bit of PvE... cuz lots of ppl don't get bored in non PvP games like EQ.

About the Lag Camping Jump In Spots... shady subject... It's obviously wrong due an coding oversight of CCP (just like quitting yer Corp in the middle of a Corp War battle in empire systems), but the sheer numbers of cases are so big that CCP can't handle them all... so they plan to code the client to fix this flau... but as we all know, its hard to change code in a flash when lots of stuff are getting bugged left and right.

This kind of stuff should have been detected in Beta and fixed

Amen to all of this, but especially to the limited PvE options. The MOBs are dumber than a sack of hammers. Killing MOBs is only hard when they are uuber powerful, but figure out a tactic and they never adjust to it. If they had like 1/10th the intelligence of the old Quake 1 reaper bot, cops, convoys and NPC rats would be very interesting to play against.

Plus why is it only cops get reinforcements? Seems dumb to me I can kill the same 5 Guristas for 5 hours. I'd think they either leave or send in a huge force to stomp me flat....
